Our founder and Chief Creative Officer, Ryan Kutscher, was featured in Ad Age sharing insights about working in the office. Check out the section of the article he was featured in if you missed it:

Office as antique

Not every agency is buying into in-person work. Ryan Kutscher, founder of Circus Maximus, said the agency gave up its New York lease in March 2021, and seven months later he moved to Austin, Texas. The fully remote agency now has 23 staffers, who he said are “probably on average 500 miles apart,” in states including California, Georgia, Virginia and Utah. Kutscher, who said that his agency is based in New York “only for the purposes of Chase Manhattan Bank,” believes that the notion of an in-person office is antiquated.

“Never once have I heard, ‘I just want to commute to an open concept office with Razor scooters and Keurig coffee machines,’” said Kutscher.

While culture is critical for an agency, Kutscher believes it isn’t found in a brick-and-mortar structure. “Employees want what they have always wanted, to do cool shit,” he said. “They want to do a good job. They want to feel supported, nurtured, and part of something.”
